Here's a note from the owner and creator, Jordan Schrandt. 

The Farmhouse Movement was birthed out of my own desire for a more natural, simple, and intentional life. I was thrown into motherhood at the age of 23 by marrying a widower with 5 children under the age of 10. It was survival mode those first couple of years. I’m pretty sure we had Hamburger Helper at least two nights a week – and sometimes I actually put the ground beef in it. (haha, I wish I were kidding!)

In that season, through many miscarriages and a lot of disappointment in how to make my new family a family and make our house a home, I stumbled onto a “natural wellness” company that forever changed my view of health and living on purpose.

Through this season, I developed a desire to read labels, to study ingredients, to live with more intention in relationships, to know myself, to ask hard questions, to stretch and grow into unknown territories, and to be empowered with knowledge about how our body works.

I have learned how important it is to go back to the ways our grandparents cooked, cleaned and lived out their lives. In a day-to-day that looks like time to breathe, time to connect, time to plan and time to dream… even if we have to steal that time away from the “busy” that our culture pushes us into.

Living a life full of healthy ingredients, healthy relationships and a healthy view on a balanced life is what The Farmhouse Movement is all about.

We’re pulling together contributors (who are experts in their field) to give you a magazine full of vibrant and educational articles, gorgeous pictures, inspiring stories and awesome tips for bringing “the farmhouse vibe” into our daily lives.
